2020 Year in Review

Scientist on January 4, 2021

As 2020 comes to a close, we’d like to thank every person and organization that has supported our mission here at Scientist.com. From individuals that have just recently joined the marketplace to groups that have been part of the network for years, we are honored to have every one of you as part of a community dedicated to creating Faster Science.

Looking back on the past 12 months, we calculated the number of orders and savings generated through the platform. Join us in reviewing some key statistics, and here’s to accomplishing more innovation in 2021.

More than 9,200 new users created an account on Scientist.com, enabling them to order research services quickly and easily through the marketplace. Every person that joins the marketplace brings his or her own goals and perspective to the network, representing the endless possibilities of science.

Of the orders placed during 2020, there were a few research areas, or categories that stood out, including Human Biosamples, DNA & RNA and RWE/HEOR. To help educate researchers interested in these categories, we ran a webinar series that was specifically dedicated to sourcing human samples, and we announced the acquisition of HealthEconomics.Com. Check these out today and keep an eye out for more category-related content to come in the future.

More than 85 research organizations joined the marketplace as VIP suppliers this year. This was one of the year’s top initiatives that will carry over into 2021 as the program continues to grow. Follow along to potentially be a part of the new VIP partnerships, or email us at bd@scientist.com to learn more.

We are so happy to have seen a 55% increase in orders from last year and very proud to have saved our clients over $40 million. These numbers and hard work helped us earn the #1 Fastest-Growing Company in San Diego in 2020. Though no one can see what will come in 2021, we thank you all for your dedication to scientific research throughout 2020 — we know the advancements that biopharma companies big and small are making will have a huge impact on our lives next year and for years to come.
